Mark Hughes is finally getting the transfer kitty he was once promised by ex-owner, Shinawatra. The new Arabian owners have made major twists in the last gasps of the transfer window with a surprising massive bid to try to land Dimitar Berbatov (£31 million) under the nose of United. The new owners were also reported to make late bids to land both David Villa of Valencia and Stuttgart’s Mario Gomez. A new rumor has Robinho now heading for the Eastlands at a deal worth £32.5 million. However, it’s unlikely that the Brazilian star would leave his current club for an EPL team that is not Chelsea.

Match of Week goes to the Old Firm Derby. Kenny Miller returns to the Ibrox for the second time in his career and scores a double.
There is no new news coming out of Madrid or London after Robinho’s latest attack on his club yesterday. Robinho stated that nothing has changed, and he still hopes he can leave the Bernabéu for Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s bid of £28 million (€34 million) was rejected by Real Madrid, but Chelsea have launched a final bid to try to land the Brazilian star before midnight.
The Berbatov transfer saga has taken a new twist, as Manchester City emerged as the top team to land the Bulgarian striker with a British transfer record of around £31 million. The rumor rose immediately after news that Thaksin Shinawatra had sold ownership of the club to The Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ABUG) – an Arabian investment group. Reports suggest that Shinawatra agreed to a deal worth £200 million to sell the club. City’s Vedran Corluka was sold to Tottenham for £8.5 million, which in turn, could help with the deal to sign Berbatov.
Andrei Arshavin is still in limbo, as Tottenham remain as the top suitor. However, Zenit remains strong in trying to keep their star player for at least another season. Alan Smith is set to join Everton for £3 million, while Paul Ince is working up a deal to bring Alvaro Recoba to Blackburn.
