This week, we visit Stamford Bridge for the big match between Chelsea & Manchester United. This weekend’s picks are a bit of a mix and focuses on the midfield.
We begin again with Manuel Almunia, who has had three consecutive clean sheets in a row & only one goal conceded. He’ll look to add another clean sheet against Bolton.
Jamie Carragher & Martin Laursen will take the centerhalf positions and Gaël Clichy at left-back. Mario Melchiot is our surprise-bargain-pick at right-back. The Dutch fullback will look to lead Wigan and shut down a troubled Tottenham side.
In the midfield, we have two Chelsea players. Mikel John Obi will anchor a high-spirited Chelsea side that hasn’t lost at home since February 2004. Frank Lampard has scored twice in his last two games and if it comes down again to a penalty, he’ll surely be the man to take it this time around. Mark Noble, Jimmy Bullard & Antonio Valencia complete the midfield set.
Emmanuel Adebayor was a huge pick last week, scoring a hat-trick against Blackburn. He’s up there again and should have an easy time against the Bolton defense.
