feelgood fantasy picks: week 5

This week, we visit Stamford Bridge for the big match between Chelsea & Manchester United. This weekend’s picks are a bit of a mix and focuses on the midfield.

We begin again with Manuel Almunia, who has had three consecutive clean sheets in a row & only one goal conceded. He’ll look to add another clean sheet against Bolton.

Jamie Carragher & Martin Laursen will take the centerhalf positions and Gaël Clichy at left-back. Mario Melchiot is our surprise-bargain-pick at right-back. The Dutch fullback will look to lead Wigan and shut down a troubled Tottenham side.

In the midfield, we have two Chelsea players. Mikel John Obi will anchor a high-spirited Chelsea side that hasn’t lost at home since February 2004. Frank Lampard has scored twice in his last two games and if it comes down again to a penalty, he’ll surely be the man to take it this time around. Mark Noble, Jimmy Bullard & Antonio Valencia complete the midfield set.

Emmanuel Adebayor was a huge pick last week, scoring a hat-trick against Blackburn. He’s up there again and should have an easy time against the Bolton defense.

Looking forward to Sunderland v Boro the most. This week seems to have lots of good matches on hand. Chelsea will be emotionally furious when facing United, who seem to be in a daze ever since last season.

Boro’s been pretty unlucky the last couple of matches as they haven’t been able to pull through in the last quarter of their matches. Mido’s been fantastic, a shock after two past mediocre seasons…

I’m very much looking forward to Tottenham VS Wigan also to see if Spurs slip again…while Portsmouth & City will be another fast, exciting match.

But United and Chelsea will be a big one, as it will be Ronaldo’s first game back into the EPL, while Ballack is also returning for the Blues. It will be emotional for both teams.
